Nexus Privacy Notice
Effective October 1, 2026
This notice explains what the Norse Nexus app collects, how it is used and shared, and what happens to it when you delete your account. It adds app-specific detail to the Norse Technologies Privacy Policy, which also applies. The full policy is at https://www.norsetechnologies.com/privacy-policy.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in service). If you sign in with Apple, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Facebook, or Amazon, we receive your name, email address, and an account identifier from that provider.
- Profile and networking: business cards you create (name, company, title, email, phone, website, and any card photos you add), the cards you collect from others, social-media links, interest tags, and the organizations you join or follow.
- Event activity: the events and sessions you join, check-in times, questions you ask, poll votes, trivia answers and scores, rankings, reactions, networking results, door-prize wins, and posts you submit to event boards (announcements, job postings, give/get posts, and any files you attach).
- Location (optional): with your permission, Nexus uses your device's location to find a live event near you. The match happens on your device; your location is not sent to or stored on our servers.
- Camera (optional): used only to scan an event's QR code and to photograph business cards. Photos are uploaded only when you save them to a card.
Nexus does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use it
To sign you in, run the events you join or organize, deliver live activities, exchange business cards with the people you choose, show event boards, and keep the service secure and working.
Who can see it
- Event organizers and moderators can see who joined their event, the questions you ask, and board posts you submit for approval.
- Other attendees can see your name on approved board posts and approved questions, on trivia and networking leaderboards, and on business cards you choose to share. Poll and ranking results are shown as totals.
- Service providers: Nexus runs on Microsoft Azure, which stores data on our behalf. Sign-in is handled by the Norse Identity service and, if you choose one, the provider you sign in with.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the Nexus app from Account → Delete Account. When you do:
- Your Norse account is scheduled for deletion and you are signed out. We email you a recovery link that works for 7 days; after that the account cannot be recovered.
- Deleted immediately from Nexus: your profile details (name, email, photo, time zone), your business cards and their photos — including copies saved in other people's contacts — your board posts and their attachments, your interest tags and social links, and your event, session, and organization memberships.
- Kept without your identity: poll votes, trivia scores, rankings, reactions, door-prize draws, and questions you asked remain part of past event results so totals stay accurate for everyone else, but they are attached to an anonymous "Deleted User" record and your name is removed from your questions.
- Recovering your Norse account within 7 days restores your sign-in, but not your Nexus data — you start with a fresh, empty Nexus profile.
- Business cards you collected from others belong to their owners and are removed from your account along with everything else.
